Assembly Engineering Assistant Manager

General Summary
Lead, manage and develop strategies for production areas from the engineering perspective. Ensure success of all team members in departmental and corporate goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead in the implementation of equipment, assist devices, tooling, etc. for the related production area. This includes managing and coordinating all aspects of planning, timing, bidding, cost, countermeasures of the project for success.
- Demonstrate leadership in special assignments that impact areas of Safety, Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, and People.
- Develop; implement, follow and countermeasure an annual plan to achieve corporate goals and targets.
- Ensure corporate goals, policies, procedures, and targets are met on a daily basis: Safety, Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, and People.
- Implement, follow, coach, and teach Georgia Production System (GPS) on daily basis.
- Maintain clear lines of communication across operational areas, departmental and cross-functional lines to achieve targets and success.
- Support with active participation in a Continuous Improvement program to ensure corporate success.
- Lead in the area of problem solving by analyzing data in a proactive manner.
- Direct planning and implementation of future projects (Model Year changes, new vehicles, etc.) including working with all operational and support areas with line balance and process documentation.
- Responsible for meeting budget requirements and initiate cost improvements.
- Development of subordinates for growth (succession planning).
- Create a positive environment in production for all team members.
- Effective communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in the Manufacturing field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience in installation of equipment, including process development and scheduling documentation overviews.
- Knowledge and ability in PDCA process or other project/business planning processes such as quality, continuous improvement, standardization, etc.
