General Summary

Develop broad understanding and application of the automotive industry standards and continually strive for improvements and excellence in all facets of the business.  Ensure quality standards of parts provided by suppliers and in-house operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly BIW audits and report results to Kia Georgia Management team.
  • Track BIW Audit concerns and follow up on open and repeat items.
  • Audit units for “clean body” tracking and improvement.
  • Coordinate LPA activities for Weld Shop, including scheduling audits, tracking completion, and reporting results.
  • Coordinate Destruct tests (schedule units, review results and countermeasures, and publish results).
  • Manage Body QC BMS system (upload new documents/revisions and assist in TS Audit preparations).
  • Review SPC data and enter data into tracking spreadsheets.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in quality control and supplier quality experience preferably at an OEM in body-in-white automotive manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple priorities and time frame.
  • Possess strong self-responsibility.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations, exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
  • Strong problem solving, technical, planning, organizational and decision-making skills and experience in the area of quality control in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Experience in Quality Auditing and ISO/TS Quality Management Systems.
