Cost Accounting Inventory Specialist

General Summary
Responsible for the ongoing analysis of inventory-related project costs, loss analysis, and tracing inventory costs back to underlying activities. Analyst constructs and monitors various cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management, as well as serves as a liaison to internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate and timely creation of ad-hoc and periodic inventory reports, including development and compilation of monthly OS&D and Key-In adjustment, and other PI, reports.
- Compile and analyze cost data for inventory-related scrap, obsolete, and adjustment system entries. Develop and maintain policies relating to these functions, ensuring departmental compliance and awareness of proper procedures for approval levels and system entries.
- Analyze instances of blocked stock each month and prepare management summaries; make appropriate updates on a monthly basis. In-depth quarterly analysis of same.
- Coordinate departmental physical inventory counts and cycle count observations, ensuring adherence to departmental and common procedures, and investigating discrepancies and resolving issues. Work with material review board to identify, locate, and dispose of obsolete inventory. Assist in development and maintenance of policies relating to obsolescence, inventory adjustments, Powers of Delegation, and other inventory-related topics.
- Year-end Physical Inventory: Coordinate plant-wide year-end physical inventory, acting as external auditor primary contact. Requires coordination and communication with internal and external parties, relating to planning, scheduling, scope, and results of audit.
- Create ad hoc reports as needed for KIA GEORGIA (Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia) and KMC (Kia Motors Corporation) management.
- Provide departmental guidance for determination of cost center, general ledger, and movement types, relating to routine and to exceptional inventory movements (i.e., 3rd party sales, non-routine scrap, etc.).

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the Cost Accounting, Inventory Control, &/or Supply Chain Management field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to comprehend and comply with general divisional policies and procedures in conducting day-to-day accounting and administrative responsibilities.
- Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; SAP experience preferred.
- General knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles and methods.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Prior ERP experience preferred (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience with inventory control, supply chain management, or material control.
- Flexibility to work outside of scheduled working hours.
