General Summary
Promote a positive image with all external and internal audiences through all communications and public affairs activities relating to Kia Georgia and its operations in Georgia. Serve as government affairs liaison for state legislature and local elected officials and agencies. Provide administrative and logistics support for day-to-day management of events, tours and CSR activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – Promote corporate citizenship (philanthropy, community outreach, corporate participation, environmental responsiveness, team member participation) through collaboration with Community Relations Program Manager. Maintain good communication and integration with other Kia departments and corporate entities. Tours/Events – Provide excellent customer service to tour guests, respond to requests for tours via phone, email, booking website and internal requests to create a schedule of events maximizing tour capacity; maintain a master calendar of tour activity and create weekly schedules for tour support staff, assist tour staff as needed with tour presentation, narration and driving.
Government Relations – Maintain relationships with local, state and federal elected officials along with state and local agencies; track proposed state legislation related to Kia Georgia operations. Coordinate events that support positive government relations.
Communication- Maintain good communication and integration with other Kia departments and corporate entities.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the public relations or related field in a manufacturing environment preferably within an manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage stress in a dynamic environment and attend after-hours events.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications and/or software
