General Summary
Supporting the development and implementation of various systems and standardized work processes, while ensuring accuracy, is an essential part of the Material Control (MC) Assistant Manager’s position, as well as training and supporting the material management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop standardized work process for utilizing SAP MM module inventory management system.
- Cultivate a verification system to validate master data in SAP and ensure the accuracy of domestic and KD (Knock Down) part calculations.
- Ensure the accurate creation of local/KD part Purchase Orders & improve GKR PO Processing/Backorder Management
- Collaborate with GKR (Glovis Korea) to improve ASN Transmission and Accuracy
- Develop planning strategies to optimize both domestic & KD inbound deliveries for external transportation and internal part conveyance optimization. Improve KD Delivery process & Reduce Detention via Port side Cross Dock Strategies
- Generate an inventory management strategy for JIT suppliers to minimize on hand inventory and maximize logistics and material handling efficiency for multiple dock locations.
- Pursue CC Yard Management Improvement as well as CC1 unloading priority / rack staging strategies
- Monitor & control the delivery of expedited parts to prevent or overcome part shortage & reduce vendor past due
- Support the reconciliation of inventory discrepancies
- Oversee the Mass Production E&O (Excess & Obsolescence) process with emphasis on controlling inv. obsolescence.
- Manage the model year changes with emphasis on buildout part obsolescence minimization while ensuring the availability of the new model year parts.
- Ensure NA/KD supplier payment by monitoring the accuracy of the goods receipt process.
- Monitor KPI activity and support the implementation improvement plans for problem areas.
- Support training, coaching, and setting performance measurements for MC section.
- Advocate periodic reviews of ordering policy and the development of new processes to improve order to receipt lead time (new technology or logistics concepts) and increase inventory turns on an annualized basis.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in the Production Control field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role prefer three (3) – five (5) years prior supervisory/management/project lead experience in automotive materials management / inventory control utilizing TPS principles is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
