Offline Assistant Manager

General Summary

Lead, manage and develop strategies for General Assembly operations. Ensure success of all team members in departmental and corporate goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop programs and initiatives for team member development, including cross training, special skill development and enhancement.
• Implement, follow, coach and teach Georgia Production System (GPS) on daily basis.
• Ensure corporate goals, policies, procedures and targets are met on a daily basis: Safety, Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, and People.
• Support with active participation in a Continuous Improvement program to ensure corporate success.
• Create a positive environment in production for all team members.
• Provide leadership in special assignments that impact areas of Safety, Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, and People.
• Development of subordinates for growth (succession planning).
• Develop; implement, follow and countermeasure an annual plan to achieve corporate goals and targets.
• Analyze trend data to develop, implement and follow-up countermeasures to existing production concerns using available indicators.
• Responsible for meeting budget requirements and initiating cost improvements.
• Work across departmental and cultural lines to achieve targets and success.
• Participate in planning of future projects involving use of production facilities. Includes working with other Operational areas and Engineering.
• Effective communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in management, Engineering or related field along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in related field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

•    Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
•    Experience with SAP system preferred.
•    Problem solving skills.
•    Knowledge and ability in PDCA process or other project/business planning processes such as quality, continuous improvement, standardization, etc.
