Versatility Group Leader

General Summary
The Versatility Group Leader will train and lead team members on assigned projects and manage daily production activities, as well as providing team members with work standards. They will be responsible for all lines within the General Assembly shop to cover the absences of other Group Leaders. In the event all Group Leaders are present they will be responsible for continuous improvement activities including defect investigations, efficiency improvements and document review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to manage all production lines within the General Assembly shop.
- Management of line/group activities related to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost and People
- Achieve daily production plans and adjust daily production schedules.
- Study downtime data and ensure downtime is accurately recorded.
- Monitor shop flow.
- Mentor, train, and develop Group Leaders, Team Leaders and Team Members to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standard methods and procedures
- Prepare, provide, and enforce team members work standards.
- Check and improve quality issues during production.
- Provide and improve quick solutions to reduce downtime.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Develop and carry out the new- model launch program.
- Lead Continuous improvement activities including defect investigations, efficiency improvements, document review, etc..
- Prepare presentations and reports as required.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED along with two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a related leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
- Teamwork oriented.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, effective follow-up, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Advanced problem-solving ability.
- Experience with SAP, GQMS, MES and related programs.
- Knowledge of multiple assembly shop processes and tool technology.
- Production supervision and management skills.
