General Summary
The Talent Acquisition and HR Generalist is primarily responsible for leading and owning the full life-cycle recruitment process for all Kia Canada corporate roles. This role serves as the subject matter expert for talent acquisition, building strong talent pipelines, and delivering a seamless candidate and hiring manager experience, along with onboarding process. In addition to leading end-to-end recruitment, the role provides HR generalist support across key HR programs, HR operations, and systems, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Human Resources function.
This is a 12 month full time contract position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition – Primary Focus (70%)
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: role intake, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer coordination.
- Support hiring managers across corporate and operational functions to ensure timely and effective hiring.
- Build and execute sourcing strategies to attract automotive and corporate talent.
- Maintain strong candidate pipelines and deliver an excellent and consistent candidate experience.
- Track recruitment metrics, provide weekly updates, and support reporting needs.
- Contribute to improvements in recruitment processes and employer branding initiatives.
HRIS Administration & Systems Support - Secondary Focus (30%)
- Support new hire onboarding, documentation, and orientation to ensure smooth integration of new talent.
- HRIS system administration, supporting daily operations, data accuracy, and user experience.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting on HR systems and tools.
- Generate standard and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards.
- Support HRIS upgrades, testing, and process improvements.
- Maintain data integrity through regular audits, validation, and quality control.
- Assist with HR administration including employee files, contracts, HRIS updates, and compliance tasks.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and HR communications.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of recruitment experience, ideally in automotive, manufacturing, or high-volume hiring environments.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
- Experience supporting HR generalist tasks is an asset.
- Strong sourcing capabilities with proven success in technical and corporate recruiting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective at multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Knowledge of ESA, OHSA, and HR best practices.
