General Summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager serves as one of five members of the Kia NA Finance Team and reports directly to the Executive Finance Coordinator of Kia NA. The Kia NA Finance Team operates in a collaborative manner, and the Manager should bring experience in aggregating and analyzing financial reporting packages from international subsidiaries. A willingness to actively contribute ideas and identify solutions is also essential, as this approach is crucial for maintaining strong financial management skills and business acumen. 

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is responsible for the generation of both short-term and long-term business plan packages, meticulous tracking and analysis of actual performance, scrutinizing profit & loss (P&L) variances, providing concise gap analysis, and preparing comprehensive financial reporting packages. The position requires specialized knowledge in accounting and treasury to create monthly cash balance and cash projection reports. These reports should be accompanied by a thorough cash flow analysis aligned with P&L, Working Capital (W/C), and other accounting principles. The Manager also leads the assessment of product profitability and driving the development of financial information systems to automate and streamline financial analysis processes. Drawing upon robust data management skills, the manager contributes to the advancement of financial information systems. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1st Priority - 30%

  • Consolidate and analyze the Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for Kia NA
    • Kia America (KUS) 
    • Kia Canada (KCA)
    • Kia Georgia (KaGA)
    • Kia Mexico (KMX)
  • Analyze Kia NA’s consolidated P&L as a standalone entity, identifying key trends, variances, and performance drivers.

2nd Priority - 30%

  • Prepare monthly cash balance and cash projection reports with detailed variance analysis. Lead treasury operations, including risk management and liquidity oversight. Liaise with regional entities and headquarters to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity.

3rd Priority - 20%

  • Conduct profitability analysis at the product level (by model and trim), comparing targets to actual results. Contribute to the quarterly product profitability reporting process.  

4th Priority - 20%

  • Lead initiatives to improve and automate financial analysis tools and reporting processes. Manage ad-hoc financial reporting and project requests from Kia Corporation (Kia HQ) in Korea.

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience. 

Job Requirement

Overall Related Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Financial Analysis and P&L reporting required.

    
Directly Related Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry preferred. 
  • Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory position preferred.
  • Specialized experience in accounting and treasury creating monthly cash balance and cash projection reports preferred.
  • Previous experience in aggregating and analyzing financial reporting packages from international subsidiaries preferred.
  • English/Korean bilingual proficiency strongly preferred. 
     

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and cost accounting concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Advanced PC skills with a strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access) and SAP. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Data management for financial information systems.
  • Ability to lead team members, manage competing priorities, and achieve results through effective planning, delegation, and collaboration.

Pay Range

$87,317 - $121,409

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
