General Summary
Under the direction of Information Security Management, the General Security Analyst will report to the National Manager of Information Security and be a key member of the security team.
The Analyst will assist with security administrative functions such as governance and risk management, budget management and security training. This includes helping to update Information Security Policies, coordinating IT risk assessments, and participating in internal threat hunting activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1st Priority - 30%
Coordinates Kia’s internal threat hunting activities to ensure all individuals with access to Kia’s systems and data follow company policies. Leverages SIEM and data analytics to enhance data leakage detection and response capabilities. Conducts additional activities such as performing security reviews of departing employees and contractors. Conducts continuous monitoring and inspection for potential data leakage.
2nd Priority - 30%
Supports Kia America’s security education program. Works with counterparts and HR on the content of the program and how it will be communicated. The program includes newsletters, multi-media training materials and presentations.
3rd Priority - 30%
Works with Information Security Management to administer the department budget including budget planning, budget forecasting, monthly accruals and budget reporting.
4th Priority - 10%
Participates in information security consulting services to key stakeholders across all business departments. Respond to security KPI assessments by headquarters or external organizations, as well as to security certification audits.
Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree or comparative experience in IT
- Security certification a plus
Job Requirement
Overall Related Experience:
- 3-5 years of work experience with good exposure to security practices and technologies
Directly Related Experience:
- Experience with SPLUNK security information and event management (SIEM) highly desirable
- Experience with privacy compliance and data governance is desirable
- Budget management or administration experience preferred.
- Must be proactive, self-motivated, and customer focused.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize work effectively across multiple tasks
- Excellent customer service skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Requires high-level organizational, planning, analytical, and technical skills

Pay Range
$67,927 - $91,147
Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
